Day One of Blogging, Month 3 of Ironman Training

Malinda says I should start a blog to chronicle my training. It's a good idea; let's see how long I can keep up with it. Between Facebook, WorldWinner Games, and all my reality show blogs that I read, I'm not sure I'll have much time to write my own!

Today is a swim/bike day. I'm going to make it a swim/run day, instead. I can't make the long ride on Saturday with the team, so tomorrow is my long ride. I figure two rides in a row might not feel too good, so I rode yesterday, run today, ride tomorrow, and Saturday is day off!!

This morning, the pool seemed emptier than usual. I got in a slower lane, mostly because it was less crowded. There were only 5 of us in this lane, where the next lane up had 6 in it. After warm-up, we had to do an 800, non-stop, then a series of 25,50,75,100,75,50,25. After the second series, we were pretty much out of time, and we weren't sure we wanted to start the next series. Bob was the other person left in my lane; most people had gotten out of the pool by then to get a jump on showers. I asked Bob, "Should we start the next series, or just do our warm down?" Bob said, why did you give me that option. I pointed out that a 150 would give us one mile of swimming, so that's what we did. Total for the swim session this morning: 1650, not including warm up, which was 200. Felt awesome!

Massage at 11. Finally! I've been trying to schedule a massage for weeks. I'm going to try to get one during each recovery week.

Thank goodness no snow today. Kids get a full week of school for the first time in a month.
